ROSMINI KI O RAHI

Our Programme

Kia Ora and welcome to Rosmini Ki o Rahi!

At Rosmini College, our mission is simple: Build the game, grow the community. We are dedicated to making Ki o Rahi one of the most enjoyable and accessible sports at our kura, ensuring every student has the chance to connect with this fast-paced, traditional Māori sport.

Kī-o-Rahi is a traditional, fast-paced Māori ball game, often played as a mix of rugby, touch, and handball on a circular field. It involves two teams of seven to eight players (Kīoma and Taniwha) using a ball (kī) to score points, often by touching boundary markers (pou) or hitting a central target (tupu).

Whether you're looking to represent the school at a high level or just want to try something new with your mates, there is a place for you on the field.  Rosmini Ki o Rahi is built on inclusivity. We don’t care how tall you are, where you’re from, or if you’ve never even touched a ki before. If you have the heart to play, we want you involved.

We are proud to field mixed teams, joining forces with our sister school, Carmel College, to compete and build whanaungatanga across our communities.
